Description:
The "Lagoa do Fogo" is situated between the mountains of the "Serra da Barrosa", 600 meters above sea level, a protected area, considered by many the most beautiful lagoon of the Azores.

You can find in this county volcanic phenomena still in operation, like the Boilers of Ribeira Grande and the use of geothermal energy, at this point a major part of the electricity supply of the island.

In the historic center of Ribeira Grande, you can visit its churches and buildings of good outlines in which stands out the baroque with the basalt to contrast with the lime.

Description:
From the belvedere of Vista do Rei you can see the most famous view of the Azores, the twin lakes of Sete Cidades.

After leaving Sete Cidades, you will a visit a Pineapple Plantation in the outskirts of Ponta Delgada.

Description:
After leaving Ponta Delgada and crossing the Island to North at its narrowest point, a comfort stop will be made in Ribeira Grande. From Ribeira Grande on, at any of the Belvederes, the coast will look different, but equally beautiful. Still on the north coast, enjoy a visit to a Tea Factory and Tea Plantation. The Azores is the only place in Europe where Tea is grown. Before lunch, stop at Pico do Ferro, a Belvedere in the Mountains with the best view of the Furnas Valley. The cozido is cooked in the earth, near the Hot Springs for at least 5 hours. You will see it coming out of the ground. After lunch, a visit to the most beautiful Botanical Garden of the Azores: Terra Nostra Park. A visit to the Caldeiras das Furnas, with its famous hot springs, mineral hot and cold waters and small geysers. The return trip to Ponta Delgada is made following the road on the south coast, going through Vila Franca do Campo.

Description:
For many known as the 10 th Island of the Azores, Nordeste is the highest part of the Island of São Miguel.

You will be finding waterfalls, watermills and well-taken care of Belvederes, and the most genuine Ethnography, gastronomy and Landscape. "Serra da Tronqueira" is the biggest in the Nordeste county, having the tallest point in the island (Pico da Vara 1105 m) and is also the habitat of the Priolo, a bird very close to extinction that exists only in this part of the Island. Surely it will be an unforgettable day and only after visiting Nordeste, can you say that you know São Miguel.
